Amazing Hotel, Spa and Location

Hotel has amazing service, views and food. Booked last minute with minimal expectations however this turned out to be one of my wife and my favorite hotels. From our first experience with Janine at reception until our last minute checking out, I would not have changed a thing. Janine was extremely helpful and went out of her way to ensure all our needs were meet even during a difficult Covid time. One of the owners, whom we met at the outdoor bar of Pinte, was extremely friendly and ensured that we had everything that we needed. They limited spa entry but it was never an issue. It was great that they ensured that not too many people were cramming the sauna. I would even suggest keeping this in non-Covid time. Views from our room were remarkable and I can’t wait to return someday in the future. Thanks for an amazing weekend getaway.

Modern and Cozy

Wonderful and modern hotel with a cozy feel. The staff here were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were comfortable and cozy. All the comforts of a modern hotel with the cozy feel of the Swiss Alps. Great breakfast selection. Perfectly situated in town.

Tip top hotel!

This is one of the best hotel I had in Switzerland! The service is good, the breakfast is great and all the staffs are very friendly n helpful! Definitely will want to come back for a longer stay!

Horrible check in

There were changes in our flight to zurich because of covid and we were left by our train at one point that we got to the hotel around 11 pm. We have been awake since 2 am that day. The hotel said the latest they could pick up guests from the train station is at 8 pm. We walked to the hotel from the station with our big luggages in snow. We had to carry our luggages up the stairs full of ice and I was scared we would slip and hurt ourselves. I had to leave my boyfriend to go to the front desk and ask for help with our luggages because I was scared we might slip carrying our luggages up the icy stairs. There was a lady and a man at the front desk and when I asked then for help, they basically just looked at each other and the man walked away. I have no idea where he went, but he just disappeared. The lady came with me to the front and my boyfriend made it up the stairs carrying both our big luggages himself. We have Hyatt globalist status, but even with having no status, I think it was basically inhumane to not have help like that. This was our first time in Grindelwald and we booked Bergwelt because it was a Hyatt. We stayed for 5 days. That experience was really bad for us, we just had to make the most out of our trip. It just would have been bad that if we slipped and fell off the stairs carrying our luggages, that would be a very bad holiday for us.

Nice hotel !

The hotel was very nice but extremely dark. It’s ok in the common areas but in the room it was quite inconvenient. It’s very modern and the decor is nice. It was strange to see the bathroom products were different as we changed room after the first night - one room had shower gel, shampoo and conditioner conditioner and the other room had shower gel, liquid soap and conditioner, no shampoo. The products are from penhaligons so quite high end. Food at the restaurant was good but a bit expensive. My poached egg was very watery and not cooked enough and whilst they did redo it, they also told me it was cooked fine the first time and it was just my preference that was different. Pool and steam room were nice. Couldn’t find any water at the gym but I asked a member of staff and they got me a bottle. housekeeping doesn’t speak English. Ladies slippers in the rooms are a very small size, I couldn’t fit in mine and my partner just fit in the men’s and we bit have pretty common shoe sizes. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is brand new, and I could feel it (in a good way)! Everything felt fresh, new and clean that I very much enjoyed. We originally got a room on the first floor that is almost like ground floor with no separation between the rooms. Even though in Switzerland, I felt uncomfortable with this and when I asked reception if we could move, they immediately did so without hesitation and so kindly! It really gave me a sense of comfort and understanding! Breakfast was all out and very good. Had many options and a comfortable layout. Spa was beautiful, well maintained and a very enjoying experience. The only thing was the entire hotel was very dark (which is the vibe I think). Mini fridge was free and refilled daily that was cool! Staff all over was super friendly and great. With that, sometimes our room felt too dark so we couldn’t see anything, so just a bit more light would be useful. Second, the location is in the center of town which is great however to get there you need to climb a few steps. There was no one around to help with bags and I think this would have been painful if we had heavier ones.

Luxury snd Comfort

The location is perfect for whatever you need in Grindelwald, being a quick walk to shops, transportation and restaurants. We booked this stay same day and we’re glad we stayed here. Design is excellent and service was top notch. The spa is lovely, though can be a bit jammed at certain times (and we went off season). While considered a small luxury hotel, was surprised by that as it has 90 rooms. The housekeeping had a few misses (no water, previous robe left, and trash wasn’t taken from our room) but overall was friendly and very clean. The bed was INCREDIBLE and worth every penny.
