A lovely respite before & after travel to Rome

My sister and I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and b/c of the amenities. We were not disappointed--a refreshing outdoor pool, beautiful grounds (the jasmine was heavenly), attentive and helpful staff and a delicious breakfast each day. Who could ask for more?

The bed was basically a concrete block. The elevator was a hot box.

Review if mercure

I was terribly disappointed with my stay - I have stayed in many mercure hotels and this was very sub par - the carpet was worn, bath tub stained, towels flimsy and the air conditioning did not work - made me feel like it wasn’t a mercure at all

Perfect stay in a new room

This was a last-minute booking while waiting for my husband to be released from the hospital. I've had to extend multiple days, and am so happy to have this place. I did request to move rooms and ended up in a newly redecorated and immaculate room. No noise in the hallways. Clean carpeting. Comfortable. Fresh linens with no scent (which I LOVE). Cold AC in the room. The staff has been great about my requests. Highly recommend this hotel.

It is what it is...

This property is what it is, an airport sleep-over with no frills although there is a bar and restaurant. The interior is very drab by US standards with institutional gray walls and depressing decor. One selling point is the airport shuttle which promptly transfers just the hotel guests with no additional stops at other hotels and it costs only 6 euros. We just wish the hotel staff member had instructed us to provide the duplicate receipt to the shuttle driver as it turned out we didn't have it readily available. The breakfast eggs, sausage, and other items that were supposed to be hot were not lukewarm, but cold and inedible; however, there were pastries and other items to tide one over. The bed was fine, but the pillows were flat and hard. It's a well-used hotel, yet served its purpose for the next morning flight.

Avoid if at all possible!

Horrible! Our room smelled, detectable as soon as walking in... and that was with a mask on! We also discovered that the carpet in the entry, outside the bathroom door, was wet. I called the front desk to report the problem and had several conversations. Each time was told there was nothing they could do... that no other room was available except a room with a single bed. We needed and booked 2 beds. When I called back later and asked for some type of compensation for a smelly, mildewy, wet carpet room (I suggested they waive the airpirt shuttle fees), I was told "no, couldnt do that". No effort at all! Later, near 11 pm they called back and miraculously found another room with 2 beds. We were already in bed at this time and had to get up at 5am to make our morning flight. This is the worst hotel of our whole trip and the only bad review I have ever given! Avoid it if at all possible! Nasty rooms and the staff just doesnt care.

Disappointing

Beds are really hard. Elevator is scary. Restaurant not open til 1930 for dinner. Shuttle to airport 6 euros per person. Asked for 3 extra pillows (twice) they sent ONE. No laundromat on premises event though website says they have one. Great location for airport stay.

Mercure Fiumicino stay

Please do not stay here!!

I have very little positive to say about the condition of this hotel other than that the staff is fry and the outside of the hotel is in decent shape. My room was old and worn. The carpet stained and worn. The bed very uncomfortable and hard. The toilet ran all night. The handle on the wall by the bathtub was rusted through and fell of when I touched it. The restaurant had blaring music and the food was of poor quality. The shuttle from the airport was not running when I came because of a flat tire.

It was just an overnight before heading to the airport. I think a ramp on one of the ends of the stairs in the lobby might be a useful addition. It can be difficult for elderly people to carry their bags up and down the stairs...even if they are in great shape. I don't think that would take away from the nice aesthetics of the lobby.
