I almost never write reviews but this place required one. We did not rent a beach bungalow, we rented a zoo. It started with ants in the bathroom, then we discovered an enormous amount of termite poop along the walls. There were massive geckos (to be expected in the tropical climate, but there.was no way to keep them out as the hut was unsealed where the walls met the roof). We woke up to bird poop on the floor after the 2nd night and then there was bird poop in our coffee cup after the 3rd night. But the mice really sealed the deal. They were MASSIVE. We could hear them chewing away but we finally saw one running along the wall our last night. Dont get me wrong, I love the great outdoors...when I'm camping. Not when I'm supposed to be at a resort. It was a long 3 nights here and I'll never be back. Sure it was cheap but NOT worth it.

We came off season in Feb 2020 and were immediately and politely upgraded by Mama to an overwater bungalow there may have only been 5 couples staying in the entire resort so they put us near each other. There were so few people that they did not open the restaurant at dinner but instead brought our dinner to our bungalow and even came back an hour later to bring ice cream. The staff was wonderful. I’m not sure if off season is their opportunity to do maintenance, but they were working on projects. The property lacked facilities (spa) that you would see in a 5* resort but the level of service was delivered with pride and warmth.

The area is beautiful, the rooms are big and spacious, and the staff are friendly. The problem is there are no roads and the ferry stops at 5 PM after that they charge you a large amount to get to town. This is likely to discourage you from eating at another restaraunt. The drink prices are outrageous, $10 for a beer, $20 for a Pina Coloda. They only give you 1 bottle of water for the entire stay. Budget a huge amount for food it is not cheal.

Loved the setting, the calm and the (paying) activities on the island. Staff was friendly ( they are anywhere in Polynesia). The big let down is that it says WiFi in rooms * on the website, I booked thinking I could still work which is a necessity even when I'm in vacation. Not only is there no wifi in the rooms but the lobby's internet was so slow that you couldn't download a site. I understand not having wii but they need to disclose it on their website so that professional needing to work don't come.

Super quiet, paradise place, very nice rooms over water, lots of free amenities (kayak, boat shuttles), very friendly staff, and one of my favorite island so far.

Not sure to recommend

Our bungalow was very nice and big, the cleaning was the minimum. The hotel needs urgently big renovation, we were told they started. The pool was out of service and the restaurant not very nice apart from sitting in the deck. The food very good and service. We found a little expensive the airport transfer for a 10 min drive, we paid the same amount for 30 min.

An alternative to Bora Bora

This was a great stay. It's isolated and quiet, but it was a great part of an overall trip to French Polynesia. Here you can disconnect with everything else going on. Such a contrast with Bora Bora. Be sure to get out and explore the rest of the island.

The property was located on a private beach accessible only by boat. From our first interaction with the host Randy, we felt warmly welcomed. The food was amazing, bungalow quaint and the beach amazing.
