Great staff and beautiful setting. However most of the hotel amenities are not working. The spa is closed, the hot pool is not working, the restaurant operates very limited hours and the cable TV routers are down. In addition to that, the hotel is 25 minutes away from town. There are many better better hotels, with thermal pools, closer to town and better overall services at comparable or even better rates. This place just does not make sense

My boyfriend and I just checked out of this hotel and we are so sad to leave. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It sits secluded and is a bit off the beaten path but worth it. It’s 20 min ride to La Fortuna. Close to all attractions and walking distance from the Hanging Bridges at Mistico. We flew into Liberia Airport and rented a car. Our flight was delayed 3 hrs so that pushed our almost 2 hr car ride into the night time. The ride from Liberia to the hotel was tumultuous. It was raining and deep into Rt 142 (need to take to get to hotel) there are no street lights. Very dangerous and would not recommend unless in daylight** Staff were very accommodating throughout our stay. They are so polite and so friendly. Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy. Throughout the day, especially at night, you can really hear the sounds of the rainforest which is so tranquil. The view from our room was worth a million dollars, omg. Amazing. And our shower.... was so cool! A double-head outdoor shower that is enclosed but so spa-like and tropical. Water pressure was amazing. Breakfasts were awesome and very traditional. We ate dinner there twice which was decent. The hotel is gated with a 24-hour guard and we felt very safe. Many areas of parking on site. If you are staying near Arenal, check this place out! When we return to Costa Rica I will absolutely want to stay here again!!

The property is beautiful. Amazing place for bird watching or just in general listening to real nature. rain our sun you will have a good time

The property was amazing, and full of nature. The warm pool was great, staff were super friendly and had their own hiking trail. We highly recommend this place. The view from every room was amazing.

Service was very good. The food and the open air dining experience was my favorite highlight

Staff, food, services, view, surroundings were all excellent. Rooms were clean and spacious but dated and lacking in minor conveniences. Overall the rooms were nice everything else was awesome

Property was just beautiful , always had great service , our room Had a amazing view Our only complaint was in the evening we like to sit on our balcony but our balcony backed onto the restaurant and we could hear the dishes banging a loud so we didn’t sit out very long

We loved everything about this property. The views! Feeling like we were in the middle of the rainforest! The outdoor shower in our room! The restaurant! The spa! There is nothing negative to say about this hotel. It is worth every penny! I miss it already!

This place began to feel like home even though we were only there for one full day. The view from our room ... I know we will never have one as breathtaking! The pools were also perfection, and the property was gorgeous. I was worried at first because communication with staff before our arrival was confusing. Then, when we arrived with the ride arranged by the hotel, our room smelled very much of mildew. Luckily, we were able to turn the airpump on and set it to Dry so our room improved, but I very much wish someone had done that even a few hours before our arrival.

This was a really cool property that was obviously built and decorated with a lot of TLC. The restaurant staff were great, and other staff were polite. However, the rooms are not well maintained, and cleaning services were not where they should be. The lighting in the rooms is so harsh it feels like you're going into surgery at night, rather than soft lighting I would expect for a resort where people want to relax. Also, there are not enough bedroom lights in the room. At night, it was just a single harsh desk lamp without bedside lighting for both beds. I asked for a replacement lamp and received a nicer lamp, but the bulb was also extremely harsh florescent white light. The molding in the room was removed and not replaced, and paint was slopped in various places on the wood. The outside doors had a crack between them and along the floor of a decent size, and there were no screens, so bugs and animals could get in. I tried to set a glass down on a side table, but because the lighting was so poor, I didn't set it in a secure place and it feel off and broke on the floor. We cleaned the glass and then covered the area with a towel to ensure that cleaning staff saw any broken shards left over and mopped, but they just took the towel, left the shards of glass on the floor, and did not replace the towels we had used the prior evening. I was bummed, because this place has the potential to be really excellent but something is obviously not going well with management here right now.
