Lovely B&B

We had a wonderful stay at the Black Lantern. The house, decor and setting were beautiful, and Tom and Judy were warm and welcoming hosts. The breakfast alone would have been worth the stay (hint to future guests-- make sure you are hungry!)

The innkeepers were very welcoming, as were their two dogs, S'mores and Wags. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. Our room was nicely furnished with antiques and quilts for a vintage look. All the rooms looked different, so I can't speak to the others, but our bathroom was tiny. We could have used more counter space in there. The property is great too, with a lovely front porch with rocking chairs, a spacious back deck, and gardens leading down to the river in back. Also, the property is a short 5 minute drive to downtown Brunswick, which had many good dining options. (For dessert try Gelato Fiasco on Main Street.)

Great Spot

This was our second time at the Black Lantern. 1) Tom and Judy are gracious hosts. 2) The breakfasts are very tasty. 3) The location is convenient and quiet.

Nice B&B property terminating at the river

Our hosts were very gracious and informative. The breakfast they served was excellent. We would definitely return there in the future if you we travel to Maine. A good choice.

Quiet B&B close to Maine's beautiful coast.

Tom and Judy were lovely hosts. Their B&B is located in Topsham, only a very short drive from Maine's coast. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Though we were there in late June, the night was cool and we slept with the windows open. It was incredibly relaxing. Tom also gave us a great recommendation for the local seafood (lobster) dinner we were wanting to experience, Morse's Cribstone Grill, and the meal there was one of the best we have ever had, and we have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the nation. You MUST go there for dinner! Amazing! If we are ever in the area again, we will stay at the Black Lantern. It was very moderately priced, and we had a great experience.

Delightful spot

Friendly owners. Delightful property and grounds. Pretty front porch with rockers. Delicious breakfast. Comfortable bed. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
