It was very desapointing and a little stressful

Not a luxury resort but very acceptable. Great location on the beach, which is wide and clean. Nice sized swimming pool. Easy walk to numerous restaurants and the Malecon shopping area . Ate at the hotel restaurant only once but it was very good. Rooms are basic, all tile, sparse decorations. AC worked great. Bathroom was spacious and plenty of hot water. Very nice staff. A refrigerator would have been nice.

We’ve been staying at this hotel for years but lots of construction going on right now. Elevator was broken most of the time and we were on the fifth floor. I feel bad for everyone and hospitality during this pandemic

Amazing hotel. Friendly staff and the location is the best.

Since we got to the Hotel everybody was so nice and friendly. i love all the attention they gave us. i really recommend this hotel, its close from the beach and convenience store.

Great location. No WIFI service in room could use darker curtains

Upon checking in I requested a upgrade and paid for different room. The room wasn’t a upgrade according to staff and I requested another room and eventually did receive the upgrade. Prior to checking out after 5 days on the beach and enjoying our family asked for a late checkout they didn’t want to accommodate a extra hour without paying for a 1/2 day fee. After a a few exchanged words I was disappointed and we left. The hotel is old and outdated and the street vendors on the beach are aggressive and annoying. The hotel needs to curb this situation it’s just to much, you cannot get a break.

We were unable to take this trip because of the Covid-19 outbreak and our Canadian government prohibited travel. Hotel Tropicana has refused to refund our money despite several calls expressing our circumstances. When we asked about the possibility of a credit for future travel, our phone calls and emails were ignored. We were loyal customers of this property and we’ve been treated terribly during this sad and terrifying global crisis! Please pass this review directly to the hotel.

Disappointing, beds were very uncomfortable, couldn't sleep! And the service can definitely improve a lot! This is not a friendly place, I would not recommend it.
