AVOID at all cost

We received the wrong room and not what was booked. The reception and staff are deceptive and always have stories that does not make sense. There were other tricks. The aircon remote was removed from our room while we were out one evening.It was an obvious, distressing and devious way to prevent our using it. Breakfast was horrible. The promised English language news channel was unavailable and we were first told a batch of contradictory and illogical stories about why this was so, then later offered a card for 20 or 30 Euros to provide one.The manager was also not pleasant to deal with. I must mention that the rest of the staff was helpful and friendly. While the hotel is in a convenient location, it is to be avoided if you want to have the pleasant and comfortable holiday in Florence that you have paid for and looked forward to. We have stayed at many 4 star hotels in Italy in the past, and have never encountered this kind of issue or attitude, or the many other issues that came up throughout our stay. We were told that as it had been booked in June, and prices had gone up since then, the room could not be kept for us in October when prices were higher. Which makes no sense on any level at all.

Subpar, low value

I was placed in a room on the first floor, which shared a wall with the breakfast dining area. To get to my door you had to walk through the buffet area. Basically I was awoken early every morning my loud guests, loud silverware, dishwashing, etc. it was very annoying. At the end of my stay, I was asked about my experience and I informed them about this. The front desk said they knew there were loud people and told them to be quiet but it’s unfortunate they didn’t. That was the end of it, they knew I was upset and didn’t do anything to try to make up for it. That was not acceptable to me. Other than that the room was nice and clean. But I would definitely not stay here again.

Hotel Ginori al Duomo Florence v good, not bril

We had a great time but wondered why we had been put in the top room with 60 steps to get there and no coffee machine. We were maybe given a lower class room as we were British. Also there was a moment when using the pool was going to cost more than agreed, but at the end of the day it was sorted and everyone was happy. The breakfast and location could not be better.

Would recommend highly.

The minute we got out of the cab, they were there to take our bags and check us in. Even though we had to climb up 3 flights of stairs, the bellboy took all our bags up for us and then brought them all down when we left. There was a lovely pool and hottub for guest use. The breakfast was wonderful. A nice assortment of different breakfast foods. You could also ask for coffee any time of the day and if you needed something to eat they had wrapped cookie biscuits available. Great location to main attractions.

STaff were very friendly and polite. However, the shower didn't work at all well - constant temperature changes. And this wasn't fixed despite several complaints. The fixtures and fittings in the bedroom were rather dated.
