Pleasant overnight stay

Room was clean, bathroom modern and plenty hot water. Good sound proofing, never heard a single plane. 9 minute walk to south terminal a bonus, as long as you don't have lots of luggage

A Decent Stay

This was a decent hotel, but to be expected on the pricier side. Check in was effortless, but be aware- due to the proximity of the hotel to the airport, it gets quite busy with commercial traffic (flight personnel). The room itself was nice. We were in a handicap accessible room and it was quite spacious. TV was a challenge. It was the last night of a long two week trip and we just wanted to relax in the room and watch some TV. Signage on the wall on how to activate the room temp control could have been a little better explained by the signage. Cons- like most hotel restaurants, prices weren't cheap. Parking is 25 pounds per day which I find to be gouging. They gave me a "discounted rate" when I complained, which says to me that it is EXACTLY gouging. Why not charge the 50% rate that you gave me right from the start? Ultimately this is my fault for not looking more closely when I booked. It just doesn't occur to me that a hotel situated in an area like this would charge for parking. It's like running into a property that still charges you $.50 for calls made on the in-room phone. But it's a Marriot, so I should have known better. Not sure if I would stay again without closely looking at other properties within the general area a lot more closely.

Good

Good hotel. Breakfast buffet was really good. Hotel clean. Shuttle service available to the airport for a small fee. Convenient. Check in and check out quick and easy.

1 Night Family trip w/ Kids

The hotel is NOT attached to the airport (I misunderstood!). Its a solid 10-12 minute walk from the terminal. Rooms were in need of TLC. The furniture had liquid stains on it; ice bucket was full of water; our wash basin drain was blocked, had to request someone to come and fix it; the hand shower in the bath tub was spurting water when turned on and the half bath door was unable to contain the leakage; the vanity and bathroom counter were not clean. No complimentary water! On the plus side, rooms were good sized, quiet, comfortable and well appointed (could have been cleaned better). Staff was courteous and helpful.

Nice stay

Nice, smart, clean hotel. Only issue was there was no information regarding breakfast times, so we were late and a little rushed as they wanted to close up. Maybe a notice in the lift or on the back of your room door would be a good idea.

Good location and comfortable beds

Hotel was located at a 10-minute walk from Gatwick. The rooms are comfortable but need some TLC and updating.

No attention to booking

I had booked a king size bed and it took the receptionist ages to assign us a room when we finally got there it was 2 small double beds so had to go back to reception to change rooms.

Hotel was fine and staff were very friendly. Only complaint we had was cleanliness of the bathroom. Food and drink for both breakfast and dinner was good.
