Staff are so friendly. We arrived really early so they looked after all our bags, allowing us to go & have a wine tasting & lunch. The rooms are quirky - very traditional to look at but with all mod cons you could ask for. Breakfast was amazing - so much choice! & a lovely idea to have sundowner & night cap drinks

Highly recommended

The staffs are extremely thoughtful and organised. Their recommendations for restaurants and things to do are gold. The breakfast, especially the fresh fruits and muesli were also one of the best we’ve had. Overall fantastic.

Very private with exquisite rooms, unbelievable breakfast and wonderful staff. It is in the middle of town so all the restaurants are a short very safe walk away.

Fabulous place to stay with Declan looking after all your needs. It’s more like a friends house than a hotel which makes your stay far more relaxed. From great breakfast in the morning to pre dinner drinks then a nightcap on your return before bed ,what more do you need.Don’t forget to book a restaurant as Franschhoek is the eating place to be but again Declan came to the rescue getting us in at some local eateries. It was our first trip to South Africa and to have an Irish welcome made us feel at home and what a crack. We will be back Paul & Helen

Definitely The Best Boutique Hotel In the World

From the moment you step into this hotel you know why it is voted The Best Boutique Hotel in the World...Declan is a magnificent host we happened to arrive as complimentary cocktails and drinks were being served and the lovely pianist was playing in the lounge...The hotel is like stepping into an interior design magazine however its not pretentious and has a homely feel...Our room was amazing and catered for our every need including a complimentary mini bar and snacks...I have never stayed anywhere with complimentary laundry and ironing service which was a welcomed treat when you are travelling...the breakfast is delicious with lots of choice...we borrowed bikes and went to some local winery’s the Main Street with shops and restaurants is in walking distance...the hotel is so relaxing for once we spent time chilling by the pool...the service is faultless and the staff so friendly...I never got a chance to thank the gentleman who was on covering for someone’s day off...he took our bags to the car & whilst we were saying our goodbyes he cleaned our car, now that’s service...this hotel exceeds all expectations...

Best customer service ever

Declan and his team did an amazing job from start to finish. The breakfasts were excellent, the pre- and post-dinner drinks were perfect, and the ambiance was amazing. Great location - close enough to walk everywhere but a couple blocks off the main street so you don't get what little noise there is.

Stunning!

I only wish we had booked a longer stay... Franschoek is charming, and the region is very fun to explore. But Akademie is probably one of my favorite guest house experiences. It is the perfect blend of cozy, quaint and luxury accommodations. I would not think of coming back to this region and not staying here. I have not a single critique.

Just amazing...

There are no words to describe our stay here. We will be back vey soon that is for sure. This guest house takes all standards you know and destroys them with a higher level. The service was 5 star. Accomadtions 5 star. Food 5 star, wine 5 star. The atmosphere they put on each day and night 5 star. We had the pleasure to stay while the owner and his family were there as well from Ireland. What an amazing family. Tucked away in one of the most beautiful places on earth if you cannot find peace at this hotel then you will never find it.
