The staff at Clifton couldn't be more helpful. Clifton house have recently taken on another property a few doors down the road. I was in this new one rather than the main hotel. I was in a single room. For a one or two night stay, the room is fine but is a bit small if you're hoping to stay a few days. Perfectly comfortable, just lacking in space. The location is great, with a huge range of eating places within a hundred yards. I was surprised how quiet the main road outside was. I guess there's no through traffic. South Shields itself is a weird combination of grim shopping centre and industrial area to the west and a lovely seaside resort in the east. The seaside bit reminds me of Scarborough in many respects.

Great value

Ideal for a stay in South Shields. Very comfortable and clean room. Good space with separate bathroom. Free parking infront of the hotel. Location good for choice of places to eat or have a drink. Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast not as good as previous reviews suggested but overall B&B great value for money.

Great stay

Pristine, well equipped hotel in an easily found location. Friendly welcome and lovely cosy room with everything needed for a great stay. Loved the breakfast too. Highly recommend a stay there

Well presented, clean and comfortable

Well presented and clean property. Parked on the main road about 100yds from the Hotel. Friendly welcome if not a bit confused trying to get in (Glad it wasn't raining) Bed was comfortable with decent pillows. Some noise from outside (not hotels fault) as its a busy road but it quietened down around 9pm. Woke up late so didn't get to sample breakfast but I am sure I will be staying again.

Keyless entry once checked in, making it Easy check in & out Scott & Liz ( owners ) were very helpful, approachable & made me feel welcome as were ALL the staff who were friendly & polite. Room ( single )was clean, spacious & very modern. Powerful shower. Good choice of Breakfast which was superb & served in good time once ordered. Free ( safe ) parking on Main St , dependent on time of arrival although never had a problem finding a space. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
