I highly recommend the Darussaade for the location, cleanliness, safety and friendly staff! Absolutely charming hotel that was a great base for our Istanbul adventure. My husband and I stayed a little over a week and were delighted that we chose the Darussaade. It was our first time in Istanbul and the Darussaade was the perfect location in a well lit area. We were close to all the sites we wished to visit especially the Blue Mosque. Each day the staff would greet us, provide excellent travel suggestions based on our interests and the breakfast buffet was incredible! The penthouse breakfast room had glass panels so all patrons had awe inspiring views of the ocean and historical sites...perfect way to start the day. There were fresh baked goods, fruits, vegetables, Turkish specialty items, cereals and even a chef who made omelets (scrambled eggs for me); basically something for everyone. The cleaning staff was outstanding and responsive to special requests. The only slight issue was being unable to control the thermostat in our room. I get overheated so this most likely won't be a problem for others but was easily solved by opening a window. My husband and I are already planning a return visit and will definitely choose the Darussaade again.
