Very nice hotel with amazing views and breakfast. However, due to the age of the hotel it was very loud. I woke up anytime anyone walked by our room. This coupled with the uncomfortable beds didn’t make for a great night’s sleep for me but for heavier sleepers it might be fine.

Staff and food amazing, but some aspects need work

Honest review We stayed during covid restrictions and I booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool (which other hotels we stayed at were open) but the pool was closed so this was a big disappointment the room itself was large and the bed was comfortable and the bedding lovely BUT the bathroom and toilet need a complete refit, a cupboard in there was fixed in the cheapest way possible with a clasp and padlock, surely you could have found a nicer way to fix it However the staff were lovely Sunday lunch was amazing and one of the best I’ve had (except my own) The price I paid for the room would have been worth it if the pool and spa was open In this case I think it was overpriced, however I do appreciate that the hotel industry has been hit hard this year and more staff are needed for less customer turnover so increased prices is what we may need to get used to for a while

Great place to stay - food is excellent!

My husband and I stayed for five nights and really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly, the hotel grounds were lovely and it was a great base to explore the area. The breakfasts were excellent, with lots of choice. We stayed for dinner on three of the nights and all the food was excellent. We asked for a room with a view in advance and were given one - the bed could have been a bit more comfortable and, although during COVID, housekeeping is not carried out every day, fresh towels and toiletries were provided on request. All in all a great stay and we would return.

Is ok could be much betted

Lovely building but like any old building is in dire need of an overhaul. Staff very friendly but here arw the things that brought my overall rating down. I know covid has changed how many things work and that is fine ... unable to provide the continental the normal way we were asked.to prebook our cold part of the breakkie so we did. Arriving on time on a prebooked breakki i find rather disappointing having to wait for over 15 minutes and on the second day not even getting the whole.lot in one go. Sugar missing no jam no cuttlery! Luke warm coffee. Not impressed. The poached egg on the first day was shocking! A child can make a better one.. and the hash brown on the second day filled w oil that tasted like old overused oil. Bacon overcooked... hubby wasnt best impressed either. We only had dinner there one night. So much for the culinary awards! I appreciate operaring a reduced menu due to.covid but again... not much choice and my gammon was not the best. Plate had water on it and the egg was so oily it was shocking. Nice puddings though. Room wise .. well room.spacy enough and comfy enough but the barhroo. Was rather odd. There is a step on it so when you wake up middle of the night you may fall cause of it. The bath too high so for a short person like me rather hard to get in or out. Would i stay there again? Not sure. At first it all looked amazing but it all went downhill. Maybe things were better before covid19 not sure.

Nice hotel. A bit dated

The hotel is nice and well located. We stayed in room 10 which I would avoid. The bathroom was really dated, the view was of a water tank and there was a constant humming sound from some sort of ventilation system outside the room.

pictures on the website are sadly flattering. Pool area is not as clean or nice as made out in the photos. The hotel is used for functions and this seems to be their priority rather than the guests staying there. Sadly the room we were in heard every bit of music from the party they were hosting and there was no warning given to us.

Relaxing stay

Stayed last minute on business, I had a very comfortable bed and a lovely big bath. Reception were lovely and very warm welcoming

Booked due to them having a gym, surprised as I hadn’t came across the place before, amazing view across the valley and luxurious place all round, will definitely be back

Room - clean, spacious, comfortable, amazing huge bed! Food - OUTSTANDING!!! eggs perfect in the morning, nice coffee, good variety on evening menu, great portion size no negatives Gym and pool - smaller than it looks in the photos but well equipped and clean
