Only a couple of things set it down really was the terrible shower. Another thing was the really soft bed.

Lovely old country house hotel near Bowness Windermere. Welcoming and friendly staff. Lovely lake views from the lounge and dining room, also I believe some bedrooms. We spent three nights midweek in early November, we had lovely weather and found this hotel perfectly positioned for us to enjoy the beauty of the Lake District. Disappointed with our room overall. It was very small and the bathroom was old and cramped with no ventilation and an extractor that didn’t do the job. Although our room was serviced daily, the carpet had not been vacuumed properly and felt ‘dirty’ to walk on. I think that the original description on your website gave us a false impression of the room we booked.

It was a three nights getaway for my husband birthday. We really enjoyed our stay at the Ryebeck, room was clean and bright, with a garden access for my dog. The bathroom was stunning, we both loved the bath time. Only tiny problem was that it took a while to get hot water in the shower and bath. The highlights of our stay was our dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. We both love food and what we have got from Ryebeck certainly didn't disappoint us. I have recommend this place to a few friends who's planning to go to Lake District.

I am guessing that I was in one of the rooms that was yet to be renovated, as the carpet was threadbare and general feel was a bit tired in comparison to the room that my parents were put in (maybe they don't like single travellers...) hotel was cosy but lack of wifi in the rooms was annoying and the rooms were seriously warm even with the windows wide open! Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options and very helpful waiting staff.
