Excellent hotel, booked 4 nights, got free upgrade, room is spacious, clean. Great service, we arrived at 1pm, check in at 3pm, we left luggage. When 3pm we back, luggage already in room. Hotel is in great location, next to river, lots of restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to Hsinchu station. We did not book breakfast so do not know. Anyway, will come back again if visit Hsinchu.

Friendly staff. Room had all the amenities you would want ( didn’t have an iron) Great location and very clean.

Recommend the steak dinner at Cafe Grazie. Also, you can use the dining hall in the hotel to socialize, relax, or work. There are free refreshments provided. Best hotel in Hsinchu.

Very nice hotel, good breakfast served and everyone especially the front desk staff had been very helpful especially when we asked for directions.

Overall good hotel. Comfortable, clean, and friendly staff. Gym was decent and room refurbished and very comfortable. The one problem was with the air conditioner, which didn't seem to work as well as I would have liked. But overall good location and I would stay again

This hotel has been a favorite of mine for years. The breakfast is excellent for international business travelers, and the room price is very competitive. The local area is fun, with shopping and restaurants, and a five minute walk to the train station. It is a full 20 minute taxi ride from the HSR train station, but you can take the local train if you wish to save money. The room itself is well maintained, and has a nice work desk, plenty of power receptacles, and plenty of room for clothes. The shower is great too. It has a bidet, which is always a good thing. I never tried the bath tub but it looks great. The bed is relatively hard, be sure to ask for a pad if you are used to North American style softness.

Older hotel that needs some refurbishment to the rooms and building. Biggest issue was that some of the hotel staffs were rude which is the first time I ever run into while traveling in Taiwan. I came here because I always have a few drinks with my friends in one of the bar near by (Pumpkin, if you speak Mandarin they're really nice, not much of a foreigner's bar if you only speak English), I always walk by this hotel and thought to myself, "how convenient if I stay here and can walk back to my room from the bar in less than 5 minutes". Well, so I finally did this time, and boy I regretted it. It's old and filled with some rude hotel staff (not all, but about half of 6 of them that I ran into, which is quite a lot if you ask me). Will never return again. Don't bet your luck on this either. You're simply better off around the same price for either Landis or Royal.
