Hidden Gem/ My Safe place

Great place for the price! Safe and simple yet close to everything. My place is all the way up north but I work in Chathan area and so days I don’t feel like making the 1-1 1/2 drive long route or 45 minute express way drive back to my place, so for safety reasons I stay at the hostel. Friendly staff, awesome location. I can even walk to Hotto Motto (bento fast food) my it. Thanks so much and can’t beat the price! Thanks Ms Linda and the rest of the staff!

Much better than expected!

This hostel was awesome! From the moment i checked in, Linda was very friendly and helpful. The room was a women's dormitory. It was surprisingly clean and fresh. I had the room to myself as there were no others staying in the room. They have a nice lobby with tables and a computer that may be used, a microwave oven and complimentary coffee. Another big plus was the bicycles that are available to use without additional charge. I originally only booked one night because i was concerned that it would not be nice. I ended up staying 2 more nights! Again, Linda in the office was awesome and so was the housekeeper!!!!! Only a block to the beach, good location!

Close by beach

hostel close by the beach and not far from American village. The condition of the hostel does not look great, just better shape than a shack. Hostel is clean and okay if it's just a night stay.

Great if you want to rough it

This hotel is very cheap and great for the adventurous traveler. It is a bit hard to find because the phone number was incorrect. Should be 81 access code not 91. Excellent area - close to beaches. The rooms were like small sheds with very limited furniture or amenities. The bathroom and shower were outside in separate sheds. The air conditioning is an extra small fee and you have to find the remote control in order to get it to work. Overall, it is like a hostel and would be great for single travelers, young couples or groups.

Hamby resort

I stayed at hamby for 11 days. It's not great for long term stay. The rooms can fit a bed and suitcase. There is a common area if you want to hang out. Free rice and eggs. Laundry is free and dryer cost money. The bathrooms are ok but stocked. There is actually 2 part to the hotel. The main one is a lot nicer. It's good when your on a budget. Close to many restaurants and the Araha beach

Very good, clean

air conditioner 100yen / 2hrs. have pantry, free of charge egg & rice. quite near american village, but not easily to find.

Definitely not a resort

Quick email responses and informed us how to get there when we enquired. Wasn't easy to get to from airport, taxi driver was very unreliable and dishonest; started meter without knowing where to go despite us giving them the address (no GPS system; had to call their office for directions). The people at the reception were welcoming. Free rental bikes: needs to be replaced as they were very rusted,bike wheels were popped and worn out. Walls were paper thin and conversations can be heard clearly from other rooms. Only two toilets and showers were available for females, although in the bathroom, toiletries were supplied (comb, bath sponge, cotton buds, hair dryer). Definitely not suited for families.

Air Conditioning instructions

I like to protect the environment & agreed open air conditioning when necessary. It is hard to climb into bed with the light in the way. Staffs are friendly even not great in English but very helpful. It was great & met a guest tell us what to do and go. Good food & choices in the American Village. Got lost on the way back but a friendly Japanese man direct us back to Hamby.
