I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and this time was nothing like my previous stays. The room wasn’t clean the walls are marked up in the bathroom with makeup marks and the walls had scuff marks, the mirror in the entry way had make finger prints around the boarder of the mirror. The entire room needs a paint refresh specifically around the baseboards. A frantic man was in the lobby stating a man with goggles and black mask was on the second floor, and emergency alarms were going off Monday morning, o went to the front desk and no one would tell me what was going on I ended up just leaving at 8am to get out of the building. The lobby was filled with security officers. Needless to say this was my worst stay at this hotel.

Very pretty property, classy, comfortable, clean. Great staff.

The Fontaine is lovely and in excellent walking distance to Country Club Plaza. I'm a return guest and look forward to going back!

Don't pay to upgrade your room. We upgraded to a suite and while the room was bigger, that was about it and it was poorly designed.

Great lobby atmosphere. This was contradicted by room with broken lamp, no soap, and no microwave! Called the front desk to ask about a way to warm delivery food, but never got a response.

The curtains in the room were missing a panel of shade's that had either been removed or broken for whatever reason. This allowed bright outside lighting to fill our room at night when trying to sleep. They said they would send someone to room to replace but never did. Later they said the "engineer" never showed up for work. Poor customer service. They should have known of the issue in the first place and not put anyone in that room until it was repaired. They were not booked up and had plenty of other rooms I am sure.

I have been to The Fontaine a number of times over the past 6 years and I have to say that the property has gone downhill. There are a lot of upgrades that need to be made such as simple painting and repair of chipped and nicked woodwork. The bar upstairs was very noisy. The bathroom drain was very slow. The hallway smelled of sewer gas on the first morning of my stay. Overall I probably won't rebook here on future visits to Kansas City. Plus they charge a $7 daily fee - for what?

Super nice, clean, multiple nearby restaurants and bars connected.

Hallways are extremely loud. Doors slam shut and there was a dog barking in the room next door. The parking is extra even with parking validation.
