I had a one-night layover in Mauritius so was looking for a hotel that was covid safe and near the airport. The Holiday Inn fit the bill perfectly! They perform a rapid PCR test when you arrive, took a total of 5 mins, and the staff was very friendly and professional about it, talking me through the entire process. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The wifi is free and strong enough for me to zoom into a work meeting with my video on. Dinner was lovely (as was the Mai Tai), bartender, waiters were all friendly and covid safe. Breakfast was plentiful and good, and the shuttle back to the airport was prompt and efficient. My only suggestion (which is true for most hotels now-a-days) is maybe providing a map to the lights and light switches in the room. The rooms have nice lighting but I almost feels like a scavenger hunt to find the switch that works each light. Thank you to the staff for making my layover relaxing and refreshing.

Stopover after arriving in to Mauritius

Great hotel near the airport. Have to get an antigen Covid test before you can enter the hotel lobby. It’s done outside the hotel.. food was good and the staff were encountered were nice and helpful.

Near perfection.!

Wow. Nice place. Excellent service from front desk, to services desk to breakfast. I am hard to please yet they pleased me. If I ever go to Mauritius again I would love to stay here. The room was spacious, clean, in good condition. Really close to the airport. Special thanks to the concierge, Pooja.!! The gym has some dumb bells, a flat bench, incline, and running Mills. That's about it.

Cheerful, bright, welcoming place!

Wife and I checked in at 0200h no free hotel shuttle so had to take a taxi costing MUR 500. Our connecting flight that same day was at 2000h and since hotel was not full the manager kindly offered us late check out at no additional charge which we very much appreciated. Hotel design is modern, bright, cheerful and pleasant, the swimming pool is of good enough size, the surrounding area is suitable for a nice jog, there is also a small fitness centre. Food is not that good but for a short stay not really a problem. Or you could take the hotel shuttle to the Blue Bay area where there are some locally run roadside restaurants selling local and western fare at reasonable prices.
