Our stay at Road Lodge

The stay at road lodge was very interesting, the furniture was okay and we hardly struggled to get by. However, the tea and sugars that were provided left much to be desired as the tea bags were not strong enough and the sugar was not sweet enough. Apart from this, the stay was okay.

Lack of housekeeping as far as health & hygiene

After a 4hr journey, I went to the room. Very small but ok to just sleep. Them I went to the toilet and closed the sliding door just to find old dried up vomit all along the rail and floor. Hygiene is avery huge factor when it comes to travelling and using facilities numerous people use. I was so disgusted and appalled by the lack of housekeeping as far as hygiene is concerned. Then to after that, have no welcome pack of basic body wash or shampoo to take a shower after ones journey. Re eption said the 1 crumble bar of soap is enough for 2 guests. I asked for a women to use? Not considerate at all! We arent men. All genders should be taking into consideration.

No Air conditioner?

Room was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the temperatures in SA in summer require a working air conditioner. Third year in a row with faulty air conditioner. Could not open the window as there was an extremely noisy central conditioning unit outside, presumably for the reception area.

Not what i expected

The carpets is a no no no. My sinus was troubling me the whole night because of a carpet. There is no fridge, no toiet brush no air freshener in the toilet. There was one glass to be shared by 2 people. The tiles in the toilet were sticky. The room was stuffy, air conditioner was not working. I am not a fussy person but i was disappointed by the state of the rooms.

RL Carnival City

The stay was great, only two things bothered me; 1) the toilet made a noise as if the water running all night. 2) could not switch on the AC until the next day only to find out it needs a bit of a tap on the control panel for it to work.
