Bad room, decent location

Seems very “bait and switch” went to the hotel I thought I booked, which was lovely, was told at the counter that my booking was for another location, I went to said location and all of the walls were marked with black marks, tiny room, safe had no key, no volume on tv. It’s Fine if you don’t care about where you’re staying, however if you want a nice room, I’d avoid. Will add easy 10/15 minute walk into centre and a coffee shop next door, would recommend for younger traveller like students, who want their own space over a shared Hostel.

This hotel, i read some bad reviews but it was super clean everyday, lovely power shower, hairdryer kn the room .. for the money and location it was amazing! It could have done with a mini kettle but not a problem to me, thank you for a pleasant stay! :)

Great central location

I stayed at the Quentin Hotel Golden Bear for my first trip to Amsterdam. The room itself, a sort of loft room on 3rd floor. Very charming. Nice and clean with full bathroom in room. Staff was friendly enough, helpful for a first timer. Location of hotel was fantastic, central enough to walk to many tourist places, plenty offers, restaurants, shopping, etc. My only comment was the steps in hotel. very steep...maybe that's a Europe thing, but the steps to the room were basically climbing a ladder. Not very easy with luggage. But all in all. cool place.

the only good thing about the hotel is the location. When we arrived the english woman (receptionist) rarely looked at us. she was rude and really annoyed from the customers. the sheets were wet when we arrived (probably because they left the window open for hours before we arrived). The stairs are deffo nothing for elderly people or kids. no elevator. there was always noise from the inside and outside. we wouldn‘t recommend it.

It’s cheap I’ll give you that. Smallest room ever. And yes - I’ve stayed in “single rooms” in Europe before. No A/C so sleep with the window open and listen to all the city noise and get bug bites. Hear everything your neighbor is doing. And don’t even get me started on “breakfast”. I’m all for saving a dollar - but not here. Clean and location. Only thing going for it.

The hotel was well located in central Amsterdam. Typical small hotel so had very steep stairs to upper floors, so wouldn’t suit people with limited mobility. Adequate facilities, but didn’t have tea making facilities - so downgraded only for this reason. Nice staff. Enjoyed our stay.

I had a problem with my preservation as I booked a room with a private room but when I checked in they gave me a room with shared facilities and the bathroom was on different floor. I had to pay €20 extra get a private bathroom inside the room. Apart from this problem, the upgraded room was nice and the bathroom was good with nice shower. The location was great in the hearty of Amsterdam with tram stop at the corner. Many restaurants, shops pubs and attractions are around. Safe area and walkable.

Ontzettend slecht hotel

Ontzettend slecht hotel. Receptie zit in een keukentje. Op de trap is het onmogelijk om naar boven te komen met een koffer. Smerige kamer, vieze muren, vieze verwarming, badkamer is niet netjes. Het raam wordt opgen gehouden met een stukje hout en dit is ook niet dicht te krijgen. Gelukkig was het erg warm, maar als het regent heb je een probleem. Gordijnen met vlekken erin. Badkamer is zichtbaar niet goed schoongemaakt. Tandpasta vlekken op de muur en het handvat van een föhn die naast de wasbak ligt is plakkerig en duidelijk heel smerig. Water uit de douchekop spuit alle kanten op. Wanneer je gedoucht hebt is de badkamer volledig nat. Voor ons bezoek is er volgensmij ook geen stofzuiger door de kamer gehaald. Ook is er geen afstandsbediening voor de televisie die in de kamer hangt beschikbaar. Schandelijk dat dit hotel voor een kamer voor 2 personen €140 per nacht vraagt.

Good value for money

Quite cold in room during night. Stairs to first floor were like climbing mountain - narrow and very high. Going there with suitcase was like adventure. Unfortunately no breakfast was served in hotel. Service was very helpful and friendly. Good place for short stay...
