There are not enough words to describe our amazing stay at La Fortaleza De Haro! We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by Gianna and Roberto, and that first class hospitality never ended (even after we checked out). As soon as I even booked our stay, I received an e-mail with ideas on our Santa Cruz itinerary. Gianna recommended a solid plan, which led to an unforgettable experience. They genuinely care about their guests. The hotel is super cool, and in a nice, quiet location (and was built by Roberto). Breakfast was fabulous, and we enjoyed our time by the pool. This is a fortress, and you will not regret your decision to stay here! If you have the opportunity to stay in the tower, do it!!

Gianna and Roberto are friendly and accommodating. This estate is a castle with a pool and private quarters. Breakfast is provided each day, but the kitchen is not available to guests. Quite a pleasant place to stay.

This is a great place to stay. It looks new and is very clean with nice owners. The town is small and walking an extra five minutes for this place is worth it. Of my three hotels so far in Ecuador, this was the only quiet one. Because it is on a dead end, you don't get the loud street noices and the motorcycle wake up call at 6:30am.

Exceeded High Hopes

The proprietors are friendly and helpful way beyond the call of duty. Gianna is helpful because she wants her guests to have an exceptional experience, and she seems to enjoy simply helping others. They helped with very inexpensive tours, and most importantly, helping us know exactly what to do for finding COVID-19 testing back in Quito for our onward journey. The hotel borders the National park, so it is quiet . Our room was private, nice breeze or air conditioning. The pool is beautiful and breakfast was perfect. The architecture and feel are really fun. We would return in a heartbeat and never consider another alternative.

Relaxing Rest and Recreation

We stayed for two different times in the same trip. We were so totally grateful for the careful and caring help we received, as well as the quality of the accommodations, we simply had no desire or need to look anywhere else. And we are scheming how to return again. Also, excellent value.

Very quiet and pleasant property. Our son loved the pool and we enjoyed our daily chat with the owner. She feels like a mum to all guests and has a wealth of knowledge.

Amazing

We had the best time ever in this castle. It is a quiet paradise but a 5 minute walk to the main street with all the restaurants and shops. I want to go back so bad!! Gianna is great host and I highly recommend this place. One of the best hotels I've ever been to!!

Gianna and Roberto are the best hosts ever, extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful and wanting to help make their guests stay in the Galapagos a great experience! Our room and the rest of the facilities was super clean, comfortable and we had extra balcony space we didn’t even expect, and the pool is so pleasant after the days activities and heat. Breakfast was good and coffee excellent, and they kindly adapted to a food allergy in our party. Highly recommended!

Good location and quiet spot. The landlords are very friendly and helpful with good advice. Nice breakfast and made sure I had bread I can eat as part of my dietary needs. It is small and close quaters but confirtable. I was the only one there so might be different when full. I was very pleased with friendliness of the landlords. They do sell there boat trip to you too. I went and it was good and saw lots of marine life despite the weather. Had to ask for a drink though even when included. I did a lot thanks to them and very pleased. Very good.
