Situatated in historic Lursy and close to Shenandoah Mountains

The overall appearance of the hotel was nice. However, on the night of our arrival ( a Tuesday night), the hotel was hosting a wedding and reception. The hotel also has a restaurant on the property which shares the entrance of the hotel. So as we were trying to unload our luggage, there were Wedding guests arriving as well as restaurant patrons all using the same entrance. As we entered the lobby, there were not enough signs marking the front desk to check in; the restaurant entrance and the Wedding, so I ended up standing in the wrong line for a moment. Once we checked in and went to our room, upon entering the room, we noticed a pungent odor in the room. It was a smell of old, stale cigarette smoke and body odor. The room was clean, but the odor was overwhelming so much that we checked out a night early. The hotel looks to be located in a run down part of town. We set out to get a bite to eat for dinner and there was not much to choose from in the area. Most of the restaurants were closed due to COVID. So we returned to the hotel to eat at Circa 31, but could not get a reservation until 9:00 pm (it was 7:00 pm at the time we inquired about a reservation). Due to the sequence of events, we did not have a good impression of the hotel. In addition, the hotel must be located near a train track because I could hear a train whistle blow at 2:45 am and again at 3:10 am. Needless to say, we will not be back.

The property has a nice colonial style. The dining is great.

This hotel is located in a lovely part of the country and the building is something to behold. I just found the service very lackluster. I would think there would be an interest in going the extra mile here but felt the team was just doing the minimum.

With the pandemic all but one restaurant was shut down. However the service at that restaurant was excellent. Our server George was accommodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend the hotel without hesitation. We plan on making another trip to the area when things open up fully.

Lovely place to stay. Very quiet and relaxing. Would stay here again

Historical beauty, nice porch, pretty lobby, overpriced food

Great location. The entire inn was extremely clean and the staff terrific. Not many places to eat in town, but the restaurant on site was very good.
