Beautiful gardens and location, driving through the estate was very special. The accommodation is cosy yet spacious, would highly recommend a stay here.

Historic property stay

Ww really enjoyed staying at this historic property. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. It was a cold night but we could keep warm in the cottage. It's only a 5 minute drive into Longford where there are numerous dining options. I would certainly recommend staying at Woolmers Estate.

Peace & tranquility in colonial charm

The Gardener’s Cottage is just gorgeous to stay in. We had 2 nights and could have stayed there for many nights. Beautiful serenity. We were able to do the self-guided walk of the property after closing time. (House visit is still at set times at a slight discount). No wifi and we couldn’t get the TV to work but no problem. Longford is a great local town too.

Access to key box was difficult, bright light mounted to side of key boxes, and numbers on keys faded, made it difficult to see, no explicit instructions, twist switch at top just kept turning and clicking, slide switch (which I later noticed to have a label “cancel”) didn’t seem to do anything; eventually fluked the right number and got the box open. Instructions then were pretty straight forward and cottage easy to find. Thought we booked a cottage all on the same level, steep stairs to bedroom attic were challenging, especially with sharp grips on edge of steps, dangerous to diabetic feet when accessing downstairs toilet during the night. Otherwise a nice little quirky cottage, would be good experience for guests spending a couple of days there. Breakfast pack option would be a good idea; lack of potable water was a concern, even though eased by complimentary small bottles of warter

Great atmosphere in historic cottage and estate

Lovely peaceful location not far from Longford. I particularly enjoyed access to all the farm sheds very interesting collection of old farm machinery. Check in very easy and well explained. Only negative would be bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs.

Fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in history. The cottages have a simple charm and character but are also fully equipped for all your comfort needs. Would love to visit in winter to take advantage of the fire place and welcoming hearth. Arrived after all the day visitors had left and really felt we had the place to ourselves to explore and enjoy the peace and beautiful setting.

The Coachman's Cottage is beautiful and very well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the rooms beautifully presented. The estate is so peaceful, and when it is closed to the public in the late afternoons / early mornings you feel that you have the whole place to yourself. Something that guests should be aware of is that the stairs are quite steep (due to the age of the building), so people with mobility issues may struggle getting up to the bedrooms. We blocked off the stairs / closed the doors so our young children could not access them. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to be able to return in the future and would definitely recommend staying at Woolmers Estate.
