Great Staff and Location

The hotel is in a good location and the staff is great! The hotel itself, as might be suspected in an historic building, is old and could use renovation. The beds were comfortable though. The happy hour was really excellent, but we went somewhere else for breakfast, as the selection was limited.

Charming, great location, good Covid precautions

Fabulous location at the edges of Golden Gate Park and Upper Haight. Charming historical hotel, loved all the old photos of San Francisco. Old style construction meant the walls were a little thin and I could hear a lot of hallway noise, but clientele were mostly respectful. I appreciated the clear efforts the hotel took around Covid safety, including air filters (though a little noisy) and a very clean room, but the room had a cloyingly sweet odor that did not agree with me. Super friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast not as opulent as I had expected, just a few options wrapped in plastic for Covid safety. Can’t really fault them for this. Overall I would recommend this hotel for its location, charm, service, and feeling of safety.

Needs another update

No climate control in rooms. Bathroom sink has no light above. Has nice overall atmosphere. Good continental breakfast.

Charming, great location

We chose this hotel based on it’s location - we were there to visit USF so it was super convenient. The park across the street is fantastic. Lots of people, families, dog walkers about - and surprisingly quite considering our room overlooked the street with a park view. The room was clean, but dated. Comfy bed. We added a rollaway which worked out nicely for our son.

Great spot for SF getaway!

The hotel was excellent, it check all of our boxes...location, cleanliness, free breakfast, and good service.

The rooms were small but nice and clean. The breakfast provided and the wine reception were not very desirable. 2 wines with no appetizers. The breakfast was cold food or you had to microwave premade sandwiches. There weee no lactose free options. There were no screens in the windows.

Wonderful Hotel

The staff at the Stanyan Park Hotel were the best I've ever experienced. They were helpful, provided umbrellas when it was expected to rain, answered all of our questions and provided useful tips about the area.
