The checkin process was a nightmare. Took us upwards of 3 hours to get into our room. They said we had to stop by the key collection for what I assumed would be the key. Unfortunately all they did was tell us they would send and email with instructions on how to get access. We get to the location and there are essentially 3 doors we have to get through using this technology on our phone that will unlock the door. The technology doesn't work. Not only that but the second door is confusing because there is a huge sign that says Abracadabra Suites but that isnt the door you need to unlock. AND they never told us what our room number was once we actually get into the suites. We finally called and had to demand someone come down to help us because she didnt want to leave the office unattended. When she arrived she told us our room was #7 and was unable to get the technology to unlock the door. She couldnt get ahold of the owner and had to run back to the office. While sitting there with our luggage as there was no place to leave it and we couldnt get into our room, we tried the code over and over again and finally we hear room #8 unlock. All and all it took over 3 hours that we could have been out sightseeing just to get into our room. As we were leaving another guest arrived with the same issue! She was standing near the wrong door marked Abracadra Suites so we showed her the correct door but the technology wouldnt work for her and they never gave her the room number!

Enjoyed the Latina barrio. Close to Plaza Major. More a youth hostal. Teenagers using 2 shared bathroom =home

It was the worst experience.. Amongst everything that I experienced, here is what stood out the most (not in a good way).. 1. No Cutlery 2. Stained Bedsheets 3. Clogged shower drain 4. No Drinking Water 5. Matchbox sized room Saddened to end my trip in Spain here!

Room was comfortable and location is good but didn't like the fact cleaning only takes place every 4 days unless you pay (not much use on a 3 night stay). Shared toilet/shower room was generally clean and acceptable but go for a room with private facilities if possible. Great if all you want is a bed and decent location. Awful if you want a hotel and the service/amenities that coms with.

This hotel has a great central location to explore around Madrid, with easy walking access to Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, and most of the Centro area, along with a short walk to the La Latina Metro stop. The hotel is nothing fancy but is a comfortable place to rest up after a day of sightseeing or other activities. It was a bit difficult to find since there is no large sign for the hotel, and also there is no elevator to access the rooms. However, I think it is entirely on the second floor of the building, so there are not many stairs to climb for access. The staff is also friendly and can handle check-in in English should your Spanish not be up to par.

The room was ok but the details weren’t clear on booking. Room cleaning was only every 4 days and for most rooms, you had to use a shared bathroom which wasn’t cleaned everyday. Some of the other guests made a gross mess in one of the bathrooms which stayed that way for a couple days. There’s a no smoking policy but it’s not reinforced. We came back every night to a strong cigarette smell in the hallway. The walls are very thin, meaning we could hear everything, including returning guests at 4am and ‘other’ noises which woke us up. There’s also an unnecessary ‘emergency exit’ green light above the door that can’t be turned off. It was difficult to get good sleep with it on. We will not be returning.

Joselyn who welcomed us emailed me prior to arrival, since we arrived early she checked our luggage. When we returned still early, she allowed us in the room to nap knowing how tired we were from overnight train ( no sleep). She was kind , talkative & helpful. The room was fabulous w/ comfortable beds, I was a little Leary about sharing bathrooms but there were 3 on the floor, clean, immaculate & never saw other residents during the stay. The location of Abracadabra is great.. easy to navigate, by castle & stop for Double Decker. Would definitely book here again!!! Myself , husband & 22 year dtr fit comfortably!!
