The Worst Stay Of My Life

When we arrived after spending 8 hours on the road we were helped by a volunteer that did not know how to issue the keycard to our room. The first two rooms could not open. So twenty minutes later we were put into a third room. Then the porter battled to get the tv to work. I eventually asked hom to please leave the room as I was very tired. The next dat another person cam to see what the problem was and after about thirty minutes only two channels worked YOUTUBE and Netflix. No SABC or sport channels. We could not sleep from Saturday night till 5am on Sunday as guests were screening and shouting talking loud. I did not want to get into any disputes with anyone so we just bit the bullet. When I complained and asked the front desk about the noise he said there’s nothing he could do as these guests booked online. Of all my years on the road this was definitely my worst ever experience. Hope to be my last.

Mojo Hotel is in a perfect location. It's close to all major attractions. My hotel room was super clean and the staff were friendly. It was super peaceful to sleep at night. The only noise I heard was the occasional wind and seagulls flying about. My only suggestion for the hotel is to make sure cleaning staff are following proper sanitization and procedures when cleaning the rooms. I arrived on the second day to find every single thing I threw in the trash can dumped into the toilet. I can't imagine that being good for the hotels plumbing situation.

Super location with lots going on nearby. Live music & great vibe in the market & bars below. Easy access to beach and the city. Surprisingly quiet at night with all the bars below. Found it to be really good value for money and a hot tip is Brads grill over the street which does the best steaks!

Nice hotel, ruined by other guests

The hotel is in a nice location, central to many shops/restaurants and a few minute walk to the beach. The hotel doesn’t have normal TV, but instead had Netflix and Amazon, and also the fastest WiFi I have experienced in a hotel (70mbps). The TV is mounted really high above the door which is fine while laying down but impractical in any other way. The room was a cube with no light (although a frosted glass with a blind letting in some light from the room adjacent if they have their curtains open can be seen (but I found this odd to be able to see silhouettes of other people so left the blind down). 148 our room stank of sewers, every time we walked back in we could smell it but got used to it after a short while in the room. On our 2nd night, a group of about 50 students and their teachers arrived and from about 8pm to nearly midnight all we could hear was shouting, chanting, banging on doors. I asked them to be quiet, complained to reception 3 times, but nothing changed for the better, so the next morning I found out they would be there again so left the hotel early and found another which was much more peaceful. Such a shame that it ruined our stay, if only the teachers and the hotel staff could have kept control, it felt more like a hostel than a hotel...
