We loved the beautiful cabin. We were upgraded for an additional $25 because the other cabin didn’t have a bathroom which I wasn’t aware of. We would have been very disappointed if we paid $175 for a cabin with no bathroom. Even though the cabin was in perfect shape, we were disappointed in the location. When sitting on the deck we had no privacy or view except the cars coming in and the main office with the restaurant.

This property was built in 1917 and is a historic treasure.looking exactly as you would imagine from that time period.......when making a reservation you need to inquire if this is a “rustic” cabin.......some have private bathrooms and others do not and you share shower/stall/sink situation....which we were unaware of.....worked out ok....the attached restaurant is excellent.....so very yummy......and homage cookies, pies, and brownies........

When we got there or reservation had been cancelled, we were told that the hotel was contacted about a family illness. The reservation had been made over six months in advance and we never called to cancel. The lodge was booked and we had to move from room to room every night. This was a five night stay for $1,000. No one even said they were sorry.

It had great potential for being the crown jewel of our vacation sleep spots. However there were a few things I could not overlook. Firstly, the only wifi/internet access is for the staff to run credit cards at the main lodge. Guests do not have access to it. There is no phone service, nor public phone for guest use at the lodge. Our cabin was beautiful and fit all of us comfortably-and the hundreds of moths that called our cabin home. We were unable to use the small amount of lights inside because of attracting more. When I complained to property manager about being hit in the face by moths when I was trying to read my phone calendar, I got an earful about the time of year, miller moths, and I should keep my doors closed and lights out, etc. We are experienced tent campers and have stayed in scouting cabins that had less bugs. We have also stayed at cabins in lodges at other places that have seasonal swarms of insects and the insects were not IN the cabins as they were in this one. Our trash was only emptied and towels refreshed when I called to ask for them. The cabin was difficult to get in and out of because the steps were rocks piled up toward the porch, they were uneven and there was no rail, I could not safely walk up them if I were carrying anything. The door to the cabin had a poor seal-one could see daylight all around it through the jam when it was closed. I fear that the moths, that eat cellulose, will end up completely destroying this cabin.

So beautiful and well maintained. The cabins are over 100 years old. Great beds. Best and freshest meals around. The owners are amazing. I can’t wait to go again next year. Most relaxing vacay in years

The setting/location was great - peaceful, beautiful, quiet....it was rustic - people who downgrade it for that should have gone to the Holiday Inn or somewhere else. It was absolutely beautiful, the staff/operators were extremely congenial and helpful.
