Perfect relaxing and romantic get away !!! Beautiful location by the water !!!

This place is amazing! The curation of the overall ambiance (along with the hefty nightly rate) gives this property a high-end, boutique feel with one exception...the hospitality service is subpar. Given the level of detail and thoughtfulness to the property’s design, music and even toiletry line, the service is like a bucket of cold water over your head. The front desk seems overwhelmed to the point of being short and rude to clientele. It’s clear they don’t want to be there or don’t have the required training to work at a property of this type. I personally saw an employee roll their eyes at a guest behind their back and snap back at another for calling the sweaters “sweatshirts”. Basic needs for a long stay are not considered day to day, and guests have to continually ask for toilet paper, towels, and trash bags. I saw food containers (trash) sitting on a ledge outside for four days straight. I don’t blame the frontline staff; I blame management. In my 4-night stay I didn’t once see someone who was “in-charge” and ensuring quality. Please fix because I’m coming back soon!!

Staff was outstanding! The main lodge rooms were smaller and walls don’t block sound at all.

Captain Whidbey is overpriced for what you get. The rooms were hot with no AC, and there was no fridge or TV in the room. I stayed on the main floor and heard the people above me going up and down the stairs and walking around all night.

We loved our experience here and can’t wait to return next summer.

Great stay at Captain Whidbey’s. Cute, rustic area with good food and nice views. Built a bonfire at night, listened to the tunes in the gazebo and chilled on the double chaise lounges. Great getaway!

This was our first time staying at Captain Whidbey Inn and we loved the property, beach access and fire pits. We will be back.

Lovely stay in a beautiful place. We had a noise problem with neighbors in our original room. Laura at the desk took care of the problem right away, giving us options to choose from. We settled on the Captain’s Room (maybe the best in the house). Large room with a fantastic view. Later the same noisy, inconsiderate neighbors decided to sit near the fire. At 10 pm I asked the guy at the desk to speak to them, which he did immediately. Food was okay. Service a bit slow. It took 45 minutes to get our dinner. Granted, pandemic restrictions are a challenge for everyone but we saw people arrive after us being served and gone while we were still waiting. By the time we started eating we decided we’d also like dessert. By then it was too late. The kitchen was closed. The young woman at the counter didn’t know what the fried chicken consisted of. Claimed it was white meat but the order consisted of a wing, a thigh and a drumstick, which I don’t like (the reason I asked). All in all, a lovely, quiet, historic place in a beautiful setting. I’d love to stay there again.
