Perfect throughout

Perfect throughout. Easy & friendly check-in. Very clean and quiet room. Breakfast choice and quality excellent. Fascinating small museum about the history of the estate and its motoring founders, and with a rare example of a Grade 1 listed organ. The only concern for some could be the distance and gradient of the slope to the accommodation from reception/breakfast area, or in bad weather.

lovely setting

After a 5hr drive I did not envisage no food or accommodation at main building. I was then informed that local delivery food menu and contact details are available in the room. NOT ! Breakfast was wonderful

Lovely stay in posh estate

Lovely estate with a huge mansion as the main building. It has its own museum to read about the original owner of the place, lovely garden for a walk and apparently also has forest trails to explore. Really nice to be able to imagine what it must've been loving in such a luxurious estate. They had Xmas decorations up when we were there which was lovely, also beautiful study room and dining hall. Breakfast served in the conservatory with lovely views across the valley, and the quality of the breakfast was really good. Room was a bit small but that didn't bother us as they're quite new and well maintained. Would definitely return.

Can do better

Breakfast was a little of a let down (no menu), no breakfast items out. Dinner was very basic about 9 items. Restaurant closes at 8pm.

Lovely grounds, terrible accommodation.

It didn’t bode well that when we got to the room there were ear plugs next to the bed. We were on the ground floor, the noise from people walking around on the floors above was terrible, foot steps, doors banging. We ended up checking out the same night and driving home. The grounds and bar/restaurant are lovely.

A beautiful estate spoilt by noisy rooms

The estate was lovely. However our room was similar to student accommodation. It was located on the ground floor. Where other guests walked above us on a connected walkway. We could hear every single person!! Must have been the worst room in the hotel. Definitely the worst room we’ve stayed in! It was supposed to be a treat for my husband, instead we had a miserable time and no sleep. The noise was constant in the evening and began again at 6.23!! This is the first bad review I’ve written.

Overnight stay whilst in the area
