Great place to stay for AC hockey tournament and location is perfect to get to the casinos

I would not rent again. I rented a different property 10 months ago in constant contact with owner an hour away from our destination I am told they don’t know what happened but someone else is already in the property & advised I can have another place. I had no choice as I had 7 other family members on their way with no place to stay. The place they gave me did not have a large yard or off street parking which were the 2 primary reasons I booked it and not all the amneties the other one had so I had to go out & purchase them it was also further away. She blames Vrbo & Vrbo blames her so after more than 2 1/2 hours on the phone I got no where. I don’t understand how you can be paid in full & have your documentation and your rental is just given away. First time using this service & Highly doubt I will ever use or recommend it to anyone else but we made the best if it. I travel a lot & have never had something like this happen.

Our stay was very relaxing, the house is located away from main road, very quiet area, house well maintained, clean and well equipped with everything you need. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rented this house in order for my family to attend the family Thanksgiving dinner. Upon checking in at 4, the house was as cold as outside. My impression was that it has been empty for some time. Atlantic City is for most a beach town. Naturally the first thing we did was turning on the heat. No brainer. Just touch the thermometer screen and set the temp. But Hmmm...Nothing happened. After few attempts to bring it to life, we called the owner and sent a pic of the blank screen. The owner doesn’t speak English or at least I couldn’t understand her so it was a men at the owners house that we dealt with. They live in Pennsylvania and this is NJ. Eventhough I really wanted the owner on site (I’m not handy at all) I was ready to try. We spent about 20 min on the phone trying this and that without result. The owner then said he’ll have his electrition, who was also at PA (Philadelphia) at the time. At this point we have to leave for our 5:00 dinner. We considered the possibly that we may have to seek shelter elsewhere so we make sure nothing is disturbed and locked up. At 6 the electrition called and I missed, but called back right after. His suggestion was trying to “align” the thermometer box because it could be loose wires. Well, we were not at the property and won’t be back much later. Without a real solution and I certainly don’t want to take this risk, I asked if I can cancel this stay and if he would kindly refund me. He said he’ll ask the owner who’s not available at the moment. Well, he never call back. Subsequent phone calls and text msgs were totally ignored. Complain to VRBO yields no result either since their position is more “hands-off” approach. Later I reread one very negative review and see the similarities on both cases: The house has been left empty for months since the last summer rental. Every homeowners in the region know that pipes freeze and heatpump act up if you don’t take necessary precautions in cold months. To rent out a house without concern about whether hot water or heater are functioning properly is pure owners negligence. Of course, the owner had answers for every point of complaints. In the previous case, it was “snowstorm...beyond owner’s control”. (The owner’s rebuttals covered everythings and I naively believed it!!). In my case, it was “it’s working..you must have done something wrong”. The proof he gave is a picture with light up, functioning thermometer box. Well we also have a very diff. pic.

Exterior: Grass overgrown, bushes & shrubs overgrown, patio and furniture cushions needed cleaning, no outside water access, outside shower was unusable (needs major repair). Spent 4 hrs. trimming & cleaning up. Grass was cut Sunday mourning by home owner. Have pictures! Interior: Upstairs Bedroom Door handles loose and falling off, Upstairs Bathroom toilet wasn't flusning properly, handle would stick ( toilet would keep running), toilet paper holder loose falling off wall, shower curtain holders are completely rusted and made it hard to open and close. No toilet paper in bathrooms ( had to go out and buy rolls soon as we got there). Master Bedroom : No remote for T/V . Note : All bedrooms have one set of linens. Spare blankets & pillows were stored under sofas in Living Room and was never mentioned till Sunday mourning. Washer & Dryer closet was locked and was finally opened on Sunday morning along with the cleaning supply closet. Dryer took forever to dry a load ( heating element bad ). Kitchen: No dishwashing soap, paper towels, cleaning supplies. Very limited cooking supplies, just your three basics. Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a few old pots and pans. Had to use a towel for a drain board. Came home to a wet kitchen floor Monday evening. Dishwasher was leaking at connection, shut-off water supply under kitchen sink. Best part is we never used it. (needs to be cleaned or replaced) FRONT DOOR IS NOT LOCKED !!! Could not get it to lock when we left. Reported it to owner & along with dishwasher & others mentioned in this letter. He should be lucky it was me there considering I own "Mark's Handyman Services " Needless to say I feel I got taken. Great location & Dog friendly that's the only thing good I can say !! Pictures of yard are out dated & Outside Shower not available, Washer / Dryer locked up. No Instructions for Renters. Has a little charcoal grill ( don't plan on cooking for more then 6 people) No Lights worked for patio ( 3 light posts ). I think you get the idea. This is now the second rental property that was not worth it in the same area that I used !! Very disappointed ! Mark Z.

Rented property for a few days over the winter. Excellent property. Clean, solid location, sufficient space, good communication with the owner. Hope to rent out again in the summer.

Had a good weekend getaway of 9 women. The house had lots of privacy from neighbors which was great! The free beach and boardwalk access was 2.5 blocks away. The backyard was private, had lots of seating for everyone, and the solar lights were a perfect touch. The washer and dryer were locked away and I found that odd being those were listed as available amenities. Maybe if our stay had been longer they would have been made available. The neighborhood was nice. Only disappointing part was that the outdoor shower looked as though no one had used it in a long time and mother nature had taken it back. If we plan on going back to AC in the future, I would definitely book this property again!

5 stars!!!! Perfect location. The house was very clean. The backyard was huge and very nicely setup. I would recommend that house for others.

My family brought the new year 2019 in this house and we had a wonderful time! The house was clean and comfortable. It was plenty of space for the 14 of us. Close to boardwalk and stores. Owner was very helpful. Will definitely stay again.
