We absolutely loved our time at Aya Beach Bungalows! We had the bungalow that had french doors all along the front side (bungalow 12) so our first view in the morning and last view at night was right at the Indian ocean!! The tide rolls in late afternoon and remains high until around 8-9 am. The sound of the waves crashing up against the sea wall is so wonderful. Food was good, staff was soooo helpful and friendly. The infinity pool is a great option if you do not want to do the beach and ocean. We really had an excellent stay and I had no complaints. I would highly recommend this place, and I recommend paying the slightly higher fee for bungalow 12 as the view is simply outstanding.

Aya is a beautiful property and the photos on the web were truthful. Everything was perfect, however, we had a little issue at the end of our stay when the manager asked us to come and pay for the accommodation. We had already paid through Expedia, and the management didn't seem to be aware of this until I went online and found the receipt showing payment. Seems there should have been better communication between the property and Expedia.

Aya beach hotel is a really lovely place to stay! Well located on the beach next to the village, it’s a relaxing place. The restaurant serves good dishes and the staff is really kind!

Perfect place to unwind

My girlfriend and I spent 3 wonderful days at Aya Beach Bungalows. We were quite exhausted coming off of some days hiking and on safari, and it was the perfect play to relax and unwind. The grounds are beautiful - next to the ocean, great pool, everything well maintained - and the staff were equally welcoming. We were too tired to take advantage of any of the excursions, but there are quite a few options and the staff is more than willing to assist with bookings. Though we did not at all consider it a negative, I will mention that it is a very calm and quiet environment. If you're looking for nightlife and parties, I would steer more towards the north of the island. But if you need a place to catch some z's, read a book, and be treated to excellent food, then I can think of no place better to adopt as your temporary island home.

Nice stay

Very nice place. Food and drink selection very limited. Wifi was not working during our stay. The location is absolutely stunning and very secluded.

Nice place and great sunsets

Its a lovely place , rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is quite good. The access to the dolphin tour which is 10 mins by boat is a big plus. My only beef with the place is that everything is charged in US dollars which is not very convenient for Tanzanians who earn in shillings and end up paying the US Dollar rates.

Fav new spot in ZNZ

Favorite new spot in Zanzibar. Quiet, private beach, near the souther tip where the dolphins are. Super family friendly.
