Kaani hotel is NOT a 4-star hotel. 2 stars hotel at best. Pros: Staff at the reception and waiters are amazing, friendly and helpful. Cons: Room is old, humid and dirty. Not a cleaning problem, the rooms need to be renovated. We found a COCKROACH at 2AM in the bathroom, the cockroach was coming from the wall frame which was in poor state. (See the picture). We tried to catch the cockroach (not what the type of activity I was planning on doing when coming to the Maldives) but it hid in the wall so we had to wait for it to get out of the wall frame. Disgusting. The walls are dirty, the facilities are worn out (see attached pictures) Breakfast & Dinner food are extremely poor (watery juices, recycled food everyday- they use the same food from the day before.) Also, please never eat any meat in Maafushi, it’s all disgusting, it seems frozen (no matter which restaurants you go to). Maafushi island is extremely dirty. It is a shame to see that hotels do not even care about investing back in the community & island. It seems like the owner just care about profiting to the max, making the biggest margins ever (giving you the same unfrozen food everyday) and not even care to clean up the island or help locals. It is a very cheap family hotel. All you’ll see are kids running around, screaming, crying etc. Don’t go there if you actually want to relax. Most and foremost, do not go there if you are a couple you will be so disappointed. Excursions are disappointing

Kaani Grand Seaview Hotel Experience

It was amazing experience overall. Nice location, friendly staffs, water sports activities, Beach front, Nice Restaurants within foot walk.

Excellent location just in front of beach. Room has nice balcony overlooking the beach. Huge bed room with all the amenities. Outstanding service by all the staff with a big smile all the time which is very rare. Specially impressed with the professional and personal attention by the Reception staff, Anoy who goes out of the way to assist all the guests. You go there as a guest and return as a family member. Highly recommended.

Overall a very unpleasant stay

Booked double room sea view in Kaani Grand 11 months ago and I was put up in Kaani Palm beach which is under construction with full of dust and extremely noisy. The work goes on until midnight invariably everyday. Despite booked sea view room, the room was on the side of the hotel. Totally a unpleasant stay.

Perfect stay

Fantastic place staff are tremendous the beach is cleaned by hotel staff there bring sun loungers out for you with free towels from reception every detail is perfect a very well done to all . Miss them already been away 2 daysonce again a big thank you

This is our second stay at kaani grand. Since our last stay I have noticed improvement in breakfast as they have added an omelet station and coffee is readily available during breakfast. The breakfast staff is excellent. Some of the staff go above and beyond to help such as Joshim who never seems to stop working/cleaning. I booked a half board package and the dinner is not that great. In general the food is just ok. The lady at the front is distracted as I asked her several times for towels and had to walk down and ask, later I gave up and just asked one of the staff in the elevator. Had my towels in 30 seconds. The same issue happened on my last stay but with coffee and the same woman at the front. Im assuming she is management. In general I have mixed feelings about my last stay and may consider a different place for my next visit.
