A gem in Ayutthaya

Lovely place very close to the historical sites in Ayutthaya. Staff was very friendly and a wonderful cooked breakfast every morning was a great start to the day. Perfect for a relaxing stay in Ayutthaya.

We couldn’t have asked for a more gracious host. From the moment we arrived Garhart offered us a cold drink, got us set up right away in our room and then helped us to plan for our visit. He was extremely helpful arranging for our tuk tuk’s and organized a river water tour early one evening. We would highly recommend Baan Penny as the perfect location to explore Ayutthaya.

The owner Gerhard was extremely helpful and suggested bike routes to take around Ayutthaya to see the historic sites- and they supplied bikes to use to tour around the historical centre. Gerhard's wife arranged a boat tour around the island which was an excellent way to see Ayutthaya. The property is located on the island but away from the busyness - it was a quiet refuge and reasonably priced.

We stayed at the Baan Penny hotel for one night but left wishing we had booked for two or three. It is such a pleasant place to stay with its beautiful garden grounds and well designed bungalows. My wife loved the different flowers and plants and I liked the fact that the windows had anti-mosquito mesh which meant we could sleep at night with the window open. The hotel is also located in a quiet area but in easy reach of the main tourist sites. There is a lot to see in Ayutthaya and we wished we had planned to see more of it at a more leisurely pace. The breakfast at the Baan Penny was excellent and our hosts were very friendly. Gerhard in particular is a very interesting man and did everything he could to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

Fine location

Excellent location with walking to night market and elephant rides. Host friendly and helpful. Bikes available. Near river. Full breakfast.

Baan Penny was relaxing and rejuvenating after being in Bangkok. The owners were very helpful with giving helpful tips and ideas about exploring Ayutthaya. It was sparkling clean and the property has a very peaceful feel. There is a playground next door that my kids enjoyed. They provide bikes for free and we rented a moped from them as well which was very convenient. Thanks for a great stay!

Host very friendly and helpful, free bikes for the 10 minute ride to sights and places to eat. In a "real" Thai neighborhood and a local mini market next door for cold drinks and bakery snacks! Great value for clean simple accomidation.
