Comfortable and clean hotel

Little storage in the room but manageable for a short break. Very clean hotel and room. Good selection of choices for breakfast including pancakes, set us up for the day. Situated away from busy streets so even though on main road it was quiet at night.

Room not clean

We stayed here 2 weeks ago and it was wonderful! Stayed here again after our cruise and was disappointed as our room this time was not clean.....however the front desk staff we excellent! Jenny & Megan was so wonderful to us. The breakfast was amazing!!!!

Great hotel overall with a good location.

Hotel was located in a great location. Far enough to not have to deal with noise, but close enough to walk to everything. Staff was very helpful and checked our bags since we arrived very early from an overnight flight. Even after we went out tired to explore. We still came back early and they accomodated us by letting us go the room early. The rooms were nice and had shampoo and bodywash in the showers. The shower door leaked a bit, but I noticed the shower setup was similar in a few other European hotels. The breakfast was delicious. Not what im used to with the sliced deli meats and cheeses. The Danish and pastry selection were some of the best ive ever had. The listing said no hot foods, but they had hot hard boiled eggs and mini pancakes also. After I left the hotel I remembered i left my earbuds in the hotel safe. They said they would ship them back to me if they found them. I left my info, but unfortunately AT&T service failed me and Im not sure if they tried to call me. They sent me an email asking for shipping money which was discussed and expected. Im hoping the earbuds show up one of these day. The staff went above and beyond for me.

Room with a view warning

I was disappointed with the room of a view. They put me on the "-1" level of the building, below ground level. The "view" is just a peek at the water surface from a window. Super disappointed to pay extra for it.

Comfortable and cool

My room was right on the canal so the view was terrific. It was also on a subfloor, so it is a bit cooler than perhaps above ground. (The weather was fine, so it wasn't an issue. But I would wonder about in cooler weather.) The breakfast was excellent, and the staff extremely helpful. The location was easibly walkable with access to tram, but the street could perhaps have a bit more light at night for pedestrians. As a single woman, it still felt okay coming home at night. The decor is very modern and cool. Would easily recommend.

Small rooms but great for the price & location!

Great hotel, location is about five minutes from everything although we rented bikes around the corner at Quality Bikes Amsterdam for 9 Euro a day and it was the best decision we ever made! Amsterdam is a big biking town (10x more bikes than cars) so it got us around everywhere fast and a great way to see the city. We were averaging 12 miles a day. I was there with a friend so we had two single beds side by side and the room was small and tight but we made it work for the price and location. The free breakfast is average nothing to really brag about but it's better than nothing. Everyone was really nice who worked there. Great staff! Can't beat it for the price and location.

Friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful

Wonderful staff! The friendliest and most thoughtful we have ever experienced! Jenny checked us in then spent time helping us reserve a covid test for our return to USA. Joke, the manager, went above and beyond to help us with printing test results from our phones. Joshua was incredible with his expertise for digital problems and fixes. Chayenne made many taxi and dining reservations. They were all absolutely incredible. Holiday Inn is blessed to have them as employees.
