The hotel is clean and nice and conveniently located. But the staffs Does NOT communicate properly. We had a major problem at check-in Our flight was delayed due to an ice storm. The reservation said you couldn’t check in after midnight so I called to verify if Our 3 am arrival would be a problem. I was assured that since I called it was not a problem. I was told there was a 24 hour security guard who could call and wake up an on site manager. I asked 3 times (in Spanish) that it wouldn’t be a problem. We arrived and waited over 45 min to be able to check in The manager was downright rude telling me i hadn’t actually waited 45 min & there was no possibility for a late check out as they were booked (meanwhile I had tried several sites and booking next night was easily available. When I asked a staff member in the AM if we could pay for an extra night and check out late Im was told yes??? Honestly all I wanted was an apology for the miscommunication and an hour’s grace But was met with hostility and called a liar —if they had Told met here was an issue when I called I would have Just let them Keep the money for the night and found a hotel near the airport but was given different information. If everything in your Reso goes right the hotel is likely fine not my suggestion ALWAYS pay for cancellation and if ANYTHING is outside normal parameters, cancel the reso it’s NOT worth the hassle or the outright rude and obnoxious treatment if anything goes awry.

Great location from boca chica beach

Ely was very helpful at reception great customer service. Maid staff gave new towels daily and had room looking brand new. Recent remodeling of pools with addition of waterfall and relaxing music. Home away from home

Deceptive

When I check into a hotel do not inform me that there now is a "new" rule. No guest can visit your room. Put that information on Hotels.com and inform me if the "new" cause I would not have booked it.

The place itself was quiet but the neighborhood is particularly noisy at night. The restaurant was also quite good, food-wise. The female wait staff were a bit cold, perhaps trying too hard to be professional. The walk to the main beach is not brief. Closest to the hotel the shoreline is mostly dominated by restaurants who are eager to charge high prices even for sitting there.
