Generally good hotel. Breakfast is nice and fresh. Only problem was water temperature variation in shower - temperature varies between hot and cold :(

Overpriced comfort room

Do not book a comfort room unless you want hostel style accommodation! Definitely not worth the price! Those rooms only have a roof window so basically you only have four walls with no view whatsoever. Ended up cancelling my reservation and staying at a different hotel.

If you are bearded or natural beauty, that’s the place to stay. If you’d like to shave or do your makeup, bring your own flashlight. Lighting in the bathrooms are just stupid. But still the best place in town.

Overall, this hotel was relatively good value for money. It is located a five minute walk from the beach, it is in an attractive part of the town and the building itself is sleek and modern inside but retains its traditional beauty on the outside. However, the hotel had a distinctly unpleasant smell throughout, the staff lacked warmth and were not engaging and the room itself was not particularly well designed. For example, the bed was located next to an exposed metal strut which my partner and I both managed to bang in to numerous times getting out of the bed, which was a very painful experience. Also, it was nearly impossible to get any information regarding food allergens in the breakfast buffet despite asking the staff in multiple languages.

Satisfying Stay

The price at this recently-opened hotel was reasonable, and the staff and cleanliness couldn’t have been better. It’s well-situated in the old town of Viljandi, a short walk down to the beautiful lake and castle ruins. The old town is small, so everything is close by (including the wonderful Naive Art Museum). Given that the hotel is in the top tier of local accommodations, I was expecting a little more from the room itself, which felt a bit corporate and homogeneous, with a still-new carpet smell, but if you’re looking for a clean, easy, and comfortable stay in Viljandi, this place is pretty good (it’s restaurant is also excellent).
