Seaside Cottage With Outstanding Views: Lovely new Master bedroom and Porch

The cottage was absolutely incredible! It was very cozy, comfortable, private, clean and Dennis was an amazing host! Super friendly and very helpful. The view was spectacular and no shortage of wild life!!! We saw whales, seals, porpoises and bald eagles everyday from the front lawn. It was the best seat in the house!!! We fell in love with the island and we will definitely be returning. The starfish cottage is an amazing place to spend your holiday, I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend it!

We stayed for 4 nights on Campobello in late June. The reservation process, check-in process and communication both before and during the stay were excellent. First impression is that this home has been lovingly created and decorated. It is one of the coolest houses we have stayed in. The entire story of this home is included in a photo album inside, along with tons of information about the area. We are a family of 5 and fit in the house with no problem. The master bedroom has breathtaking views and a very comfortable bed. There is also a full size washer/dryer in the master bedroom closet that was really nice. With a family of five on a road trip, this made life so much easier. There are two additional bedrooms along with a loft. My eleven year old claimed the loft as her space and loved it. I can not say enough about how the owners made use of every ounce of space in this small cottage. Unfortunately Mother Nature did not cooperate with us and we ended up with some chilly days with highs only in the 50s. The heaters and electric fireplace warmed the house up nicely. The mosquitos were terrible while we were there. After talking with some of the locals it sounds like it was a particularly bad year for them and not the norm. They did make it difficult to fully enjoy the outside areas. However, the screened porch worked great to keep them out and we were still able to enjoy our outdoor time. If only there was a way to heat that porch, we would have lived out there! We were a little early in the summer for spotting whales from shore. However, we did see several seals who swam daily right in front of the house. Make sure to stop by the visitor center when you arrive on the island. They were extremely helpful with suggestions of things to do and area information. The house is only a short distance from the Head Harbor light station. Make sure to head there during low tide and walk out. It was one of our favorite experiences on the island. This was our first time to Campobello. For other first timers, there is no gas station on the island and the Village store only has a small selection of groceries. We took a daytrip into the Lubec area to see the West Quoddy lighthouse and stopped to stock up at the IGA. Just pay attention to what you can/cannot bring into Canada. I hope you enjoy this home as much as we did!

We LOVED our stay at Starfish cottage. The cottage was very unique, beautiful, and had many comforts of home. We are thrilled that we had the opportunity to stay in this charming cottage and visit the charming Campobello island! We enjoyed everything about our stay. The cottage was well laid out and well-decorated. The master bedroom was spectacular with a view of the water. We spied whales and water animals from the master bedroom. It was amazing to wake up to the view that this room offers. My sons loved the loft. The kitchen was convenient. We enjoyed the screened-in porch with an over-head fan (it was especially wonderful because the mosquito were biting.) Outside in the back yard, the red chairs looking over the water were well placed for morning coffee, star gazing (when it wasn't foggy), observing the change in the tide, and surveying the seals, whales, porpoises, eagles and other fowl. The wifi worked and we could have watched TV but we were too enamored with the cottage, the views, and the grounds to miss a moment by watching television. We were very pleased with the location of the cottage on the island. It was quiet and tranquil (although one of the neighbors was rather noisy on the night of our arrival.) We enjoyed being so close to the East Quoddy Lighthouse. We visited Roosevelt International Park where we enjoyed Tea with Elenore, the FUN tour, and the carriage trails. The visitor's centers where we stopped offered a wealth of knowledge and a smile! The Mulholland Point Light and center there offered an interesting visit. We were glad to have met Kevin and Kathy, Denis's neighbors who were hospitable and kind. We loved it and can't wait to go back!

Starfish Cottage was the perfect place for us to spend our summer vacation week. The cottage is both roomy and cozy with a beautiful new master bedroom. The decorations and wall art are plentiful all with a sense of the local Campobello island. It's well furnished with everything needed for your stay. The cottage is very clean and bright. Some of the highlights of our trip: - One day we woke up to the sound of whales, and easily viewed a couple of MInke's with a pair of provided binoculars. - The weather was dry, sunny and pleasant with high temperatures in the 70's, while back home in Connecticut it was humid and in the 90's. - The island has so much to explore including Roosevelt park and Head Harbour Light. (Probably the most scenic lighthouse on the east coast). - The screened in porch at the cottage is perfect for relaxing and taking in the beautiful water views. We loved every minute, and will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful property and set up. The cottage and set up was amazing! We saw whales, seals and other wildlife. Very remote with beautiful scenery and sights. The only thing would be helpful is knowing that limited access to groceries and no gas station. We would have prepared our groceries and menu plan a little different. Overall loved it!

We had a wonderful time at Starfish Cottage. An absolutely stunning setting, with privacy and great views of the water. The house is clean and pleasant with many nice, thoughtful touches. In good weather, the screen porch or the deck are very nice for sitting, reading, eating, etc.. The yard is sizable and there is a cool path down to a rocky outlook with excellent water views (just watch your step!). Dennis checked in to make sure all was well upon check-in. All in all it is a superb site and we will plan on booking here again.

This was absolutely wonderful for our family. We loved waking up to see the beautiful views of the bay. We could not praise Dennis enough he made us feel right at home in his beautiful cottage.

This is an amazing property for the view alone. On Sunday sitting here eating my breakfast while watching a bald eagle sit on the viewing porch. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything a person would need to cook a great meal, we had some local lobster, Saturday for dinner. It’s really the view that stands out. Every few minutes I stop whatever I am doing and just stare off in to the bay. Come for the cottage and stay for the view. I know we will again.

Good location, but some simple amenities (along with a list and f things that were left by other renters) would be great. We bought groceries before coming, and many of them were already there. Essentials are BUG SPRAY (as the mosquitos get onto the porch at night despite the screen), coffee filters (so EVERY RENTER DOESNT NEED TO BUY THESE!), and a notebook with essential facts about the cottage (where the switches are for the fans, etc). We requested a lobster pot and he arranged for one! Thank you! The biggest concern is that the cottage supposedly sleeps 8 (2 in the front room, 2in the captains room, 2 in the bunk beds, and 2 upstairs in the loft. However, there were just 3 of us, and we were falling over each other. If there are more than 4 there aren’t enough places for people to eat.
